Hello blog, this is me...

I forgot how difficult it was to write a blog post, after the pretty decent break I took from blogging. As I said in my previous article, I got started on a blog that didn't exactly represent who I am, and wasn't happy with its content. But my life is about to take a big turn, and with all the change in the air I was hoping to start over again and try to produce regular, quality content on Maddy's Moon.

The past month and a half has been very busy, packed with enriching  experiences and nice people. I've visited a friend (the one from Tours -give it a look-), spent hours exposing my pale bum to the sun in good company (no results tan wise, what did I expect ?). I did a week long work experience in a chocolaterie (This one, precisely) during which I learned a lot, I don't think I'll ever be able to eat « cheap » chocolate ever again in my life ! The chocolatier was so nice and welcoming, I regained a bit of my lost faith in humanity.

I'm writing all of that nonsense whislt on holiday and am being flooded by booming, 14th of july music. I'm not going to say I actually like the music, but it's the first time I've ever been to a holiday camp were the residents were sweet. Everybody seems to get a lot nicer now that I'm going away... I'm absolutely shattered, after spending the day playing tennis and biking around for 40km (talk about holidays!), but the Marais-Poitevin is beautiful and I'm glad I payed it a visit before going away. But you won't see this post until I come home, I promised myself I would take advantage of the poor internet here and not come close to a social media platform for a week.

I've had plans to leave France for a while now, and it's all coming together. My ticket to England is booked for the 28th of July. A complete change of scenery, a hoped for breath of fresh air, mabye ? I am excited, but saying I'm not afraid would be a lie : I've spent 13 years of my life in the butt-hole of the world village in which I live, I barely know anything else. I'm sure I'll be staying with my grand-parents for at least a month, and then...then I have no idea. But I'll keep you posted as soon as the bluriness that is my future wears out...

My computer is completly fucking up at th moment, but I'm going to do my best to find a way to keep you posted about my adventures.

Thank you for sticking with me through my come-back rant,
See you soon (promise)

In need of a change

I've been lacking inspiration about what to write on this blog lately. Even though there are tons of «100 blogposts ideas » out there on the internet, these preconceived ideas do not feel like me. I realised that whilst telling my mum « Oh crap, I have to blog today! Please give me an idea, anything would suit me! ». The problems are n°1:No, I do not HAVE to blog, I do it as a hobby and because I enjoy it, and n°2 : No, « anything » won't suit! I want my blog to be a place where I can talk about things that genuinely interests me, from products that I really want to share my thoughts about, to sweet places in my countryside, including revues of films/books that might interest you, well photographied original makeup looks, travel experiences (if I ever do travel), people that I find inspiring...
I don't want to write just to be consistent and keep a schedule. Because what is the point of consisency if you continuously post crap?
I want to be passionate and satified with the posts I wrap up, I want my pictures to look good, my texts to be nicely written, and most importantly, I want people to enjoy reading every single one of my articles, whether it's because they find them interesting, helpful, or simply pretty.

So expect to see fewer posts in the future, but I promise I'l do my best to have them as polished and interesting as possible. Thank you for your understanding, and please excuse the typos and grammatical mistakes that might not have caught my tired and useless 11:PM eyes.

See you next time,

Maddy

Picnic with the fairies

Spring must be in the middle of some kind of existential crisis at the moment. He's only in his early days but already likes to believe he's summer. And I'm not here to complain ! The 30 dregrees and bright blue sky allowed me to wear the light dresses and shorts I've filled my wardrobe up with. And what better place to embrace the beautiful weather (and to show the world my dress) than a lake coming right out out a fairytail ? My family and I went for a lovely picnic and badmington game in Busserolles (ho, you don't know the place ? What a looser ! I'm joking, obviously), the lighting and scenery were so nice I couldn't resist taking a few shots. Sorry, my outfit is far from exeptionnal, I'm just wearing an H&M dress from last year (although they have a similar one out every year), an extremely flowy kimono from Sheinside and a pair of white Pimkie ballerinas (when I'm actually wearing shoes...what?!).

I kept my makeup light and basic, exept for the bright blue liner on my bottom lash line (If Lily Pepples can do it, why couldn't I ?). I had on my good old Dreampure BB cream by Maybelline, topped up with powder and concealer, Sleek's blush inrose gold, Kiko'seyeshadow stick in n° 38, and Tanya Burr's lipgloss in Picnic in the park (Pinic in the lake ? No ? Ok.).

I hope you enjoyed this post and its pictures, please tell me in which way you've taken advantage of the sun (or of the rain if you're unlucky).

See you next time,
Maddy

Minimalist face

We all have those days where we have nothing planned other than staying at home and studying/working. On most of these days, I go makeup free, to let my skin breathe (is that a myth?) as well as to avoid the hassle that is taking my makeup off at night. But some days, when I don't feel like getting out of my PJ's, I just need something to get my head out of my arse, and in front of my computer. I've found that getting dressed and putting on a little bit of makeup helps a lot with productivity (she says whilst watching « Girls », all day), and who knows, mabye I'll actually see someone at some point in the day ? (mmmmm no way). But anyways, here's the look I've been going for latey when I needed to feel like I looked decent but couldn't be bothered.

I started by applying my « Maybelline dream pure BB» BB cream, which is the only BB/CC/DD cream/tinted moisturizer (wow, marketing, you're going too far!) I use, and it does the job. It's very light weight (as you would expect from a BB cream), slightly moisturizing, but not shiny. It also says it has anti-blemish properties (not sure about that, but it doesn't break me out). The dowsides to this product are 1 : that you really have to work it into your skin, or it can look streaky and 2 : that it only comes in three shades (hey for 11,50€, it couldn't be perfect). I followed up with a tiny bit of Rimmel's « Wake me up » concealer under my eyes, on my veiny eyelids and on any blemishes that might have popped up on that day, to avoid looking like a zombie. And (I know I shouldn't start sentence with « and » but hey, grammar!) I topped it all off with a light dusting of my trusty (and budget friendly ) Rimmel « Stay Matte » translucent powder on my T-zone.
Since looking like a ghost wasn't my goal, I added a touch of Maybelline's « Dream Soft » blush in peach on my cheeks to give them a healthy peachy glow. If you have been traumatized by the evil « Dream matte mousse »  foundation (I will NOT link it!), know that the cream blushers from the same line are actually quite nice to use and apply smoothly.

I kept the eye look extremely basic, by just doing a cat-flick using my all time favorite and nearly dried out «Super Liner Perfect Slim » by L'Oréal, before adding a couple coats of the brands « Miss Manga » mascara, which is nice, but far behind my « They're Real ». I highlited my inner-corner and brow bone using a sparkly white shadow (mine is from « The Balm's Nude Tude » but any should work).
Speaking of eyebrows, I used my Soap and Glory « Archery brow pencil » to frame my face in two minutes. This stuff is the bomb ! It's super quick and easy to use, has the right amout of pigmentation, is from the drugstore... anything you might want, basically !

Since my lips were suffering from the changing season, I added a touch of my Nivea « Raspberry Rosé » lip balm, as a final touch. It smells divine and moisturizes without being uncomfortable or sticky.

That's it! I Hope you enjoyed this minimalistic makeup look and please tell me, which products do you reach for when you're not feeling makeup creative or you are just staying at home ?

See you soon,

Maddy

Did you know ? Marilyn and Audrey

I'm pretty sure everybody has something interesting about them... wether it's small anecdotes  or "simply" an extraordinary life. Turns out the following fashion icons have both. There's more about them than just the fame and glamourous lifestyle. Here are a few unimportantly interesting facts about a couple ladies, who's names are always the first to pop into my head when I hear the words « fashion Icons ». Can you guess who they are?

Audrey Hepburn

-She was born in Belgium, but has an english nationality because of her farther.
-During the 1930s, her parents were members of the British Union of Fascists.
-She trained to be a ballerina and used to perform to raise money for the Dutch Resistance.
-After the liberation of the Netherlands, she was so malnourished that she fell ill after eating some sugar and a can of condensed milk – she was unused to rich food.
-She had to abandon her professionnal ballerina career because of her malnutrition, and because, at 5ft7, she was too tall.
-She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of her work with UNICEF.
-Audrey's feet were a size 10.
-She promised herself to never exeed 103 pounds, exept during her pregnancies, and she succeeded.
-Hepburn could speek English, Spanish, French, Dutch and Italian.
-Truman Capote, « Breakfast at Tiffany's » writer qualified Audrey Hepburn as being « grossly miscast » as Holly Golightly, Marilyn Monroe being his first choice.

Speaking of Marilyn...

Marilyn Monroe

-Norma Jeane nearly chose the screen name of Jean Adair but changed it to Marilyn Monroe in March 1956.
-She had 11 sets of foster parents, and lived in an orphenage, her mom being held in a mental institution.
-She had two plastic surgeries : a rinoplasty and a chin implant.
-She used to use five types of lipstick and gloss: darker reds were used on the outer corners, lighter shades in the middle and a highlighted cupid's bow and bottom lip, to create her fleshy pout.
-Marilyn was burried in a green pucci nylon jersey dress.
-Monroe was an acute stutterer and in the early part of her acting career received elocution lessons to correct it.
-The blonde had an IQ of 168.
-And owned over 400 books.
-When she was with Arthur Miller, she suffered an ectopic prengnancy and a miscarriage.
-Monroe made Joe DiMaggio promise to leave flowers on her grave every week if she died before him. He kept his promise and had half-dozen red roses were delivered three times a week to her crypt for 20 years.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you did, I'll come back with more installments of this series featuring other inspiring ladies.

See you soon,
Maddy

Asian Foodspiration

As you might have seen in my « To do... » post, I am firmly decided to get out of my « foodfort zone » and try new recipes. There had been a time in my life when I would make many « recipe » boards on pinterest, spend all day looking at yummy food that I could mash up and cook something new almost daily. Now, I just seem to stick to the same rice/tofu/veggies staple, and am feeling the urge to wake my taste buds up with some novelty. To do so, I went digging back into my old recipe gathering and came up with five delicious looking Asian-style dishes that I'm going to have a shot at. Asiatic flavors, (chili, ginger, soy sauce...) are by far my favorites, take me to a sushi place and you'll win my heart. Bear in mind I'm a « pescatarian », so no meat-based meals will be found in this list.

Being a big fan of spicy stuff and noodles, I couldn't not want to try this amazing looking bowl of ramen. The good thing about this bowl too, is that it doesn't contain « typically asian » ingredients which are impossible to find in my local/countryside/horrible supermarket.

This dish definitely requires a bit more shopping and preparation than the first one. But I figured homemade dumplings could only be better than takeway ones. Annnd I love takeway ones.

When tuna (aka, my favorite fish) season comes, this recipe will be the first to be attempted by my clumsy self. Come on, tell me this sashimi style tartar doesn't look delicious !

To be honest...the cabbage salad is one of my favorite parts of a japanese meal. Nearly as good as sushi. If this recipe works out, unlimited cabbage salad would be a thing...heaven.

If you haven't tried Baozis, go and make yourself some right now, they are amazing ! These tofu-stuffed ones seemed like a perfect upgrade to an allready delicious recipe. Can't wait to try them !

Have a yummy day,

Maddy

5 Shows i've finished/ am up to date with

The one thing you'll learn about me by scrolling through my blog is that I'm a looser. I drop out of things, am late to every single trend (just downloaded instagram and snapchat: maddymoon), hate what everybody seems to loves for no apparent reason... And of course that goes for TV shows too. I've only finished very few series, just because I tend to get bored with them. I hate Pretty Little Liars - running in circles- , can't stand The Walking Dead -too caricatural for me-, didn't enjoy Breaking Bag -boooring-, and lost track on the very shallow Gossip Girl. But here's a quintet of TV series that grabbed my attention, to the point where I watched every existing episode (what commitment). I'm not saying they're all good. Just very, very entertaining. Some of them are even popular (see, see, I'm NORMAL).

1 Malcolm in the Middle :

This show is my childhood. I've watched every single episode. 3 times. The little genious and his surrounding never failed to make my family and I laugh. Don't overlook this series because it's « a kid's show », I honestly think everybody could enjoy it. If you're feeling down and in need of an old school giggle, Malcolm In The Middle is the way to go.

2 The mentalist :

I can't believe this show's over. Even though it got out of breath and the ending was crappy, I know I'll miss chasing criminals whith the slightly psycopathic, extremely good looking Patrick Jane (played by Simon Baker, 'love Simon Baker) and his superiors. The cast from « the mentalist » is really good, the first few season are really the best but once you start watching, you just can't leave  the characters. If you're looking for a better- to my opinion- alternative to Dexter, you should give « The mentalist » a try.

3 American Horror Story :

This one combines good looking characters and entertaining stories. It's not brilliant, and far from being as scary as everybody describes it, but it's light and relatively fun to watch. I only finished AHS because every season has a different story, and -let's be honest- because I wanted to see who was going to be embodied by Evan Peters. To my opinion, the 2nd season is the best, and the 4th one a bit "meh". I'm still planning on watching the 5th season though, I heard it has Lady Gaga in it...we'll see how that goes.

4-Kyle XY :

You have no idea how painful it is for me to talk about this abruptly dicontinued show (not overly dramatic here Maddy...). The series got me sucked into it, I had a huuuuge crush on Matt Dallas, the storyline was perfect, I had watched all of the bonus stuff... And it got stopped. It was left hanging on the edge of a cliff. What?! I still highly recomment it though, if you want to have a brilliant time before being left sobbing from disappointment on your bed.

5 Games Of Thrones :

12th of april. The date is written on every notebook I own. The lauch day of GOT season 5. I cannot express how excited I am for it to come out, I already know that waiting between each episode, anxious to know if my favorite characters are going to make it, will be an absolute torture, but I'm up for it. I really didn't like he first season, but I pushed through it because it was « So Popular » and I'm glad I did. Games of Thrones is far from what I'm used to watching, Dragons, sex scenes, Middle Ages, aren't my thing. At all.So don't be reticent to the idea of spending hours glued to your TV in front of this gem, because it's « So Not You ». You'll regret it.

There you go. These are the five shows I've been loyal too. I hope you've enjoyed this post, don't forget to tell me which are your favorite series', whether you have watched any of those mentioned above and share your thoughts .

Have a lovely day,

Maddy

Spring shortening

Yep... it happened. I said I would chop the mane off in my « Chopping it off » post, and -to my suprise- I really did. I asked for a very slighltly layered, Lily Collins style lob. The hairdresser took in consideration the frizziness of my hair and left it a bit longer than it was on the pictures, giving it space to bounce up when it dries. I am absolutely chuffed with the way it looks now, it feels a lot lighter, structured and healthier, what more could I ask for ?
What do you think about the lob ? Have you already made the cut ?

Have a lovely day,

Maddy

How much's my face worth: worst case scenario

Hello and welcome to the second installement of my « how much's my face worth ? » series. Series in which I make myself (depressed) realise how much money I cake up on my face on a daily basis. Today's look will be a dewy-spring inspired look, whith a light base and shimmery eyes. Let's see how it goes (shivers...).

Well, I guess we can say that spring is expensive. I'm now going to make a pathetic attempt at justifying myself by saying that I used all of the most expensive products of my collection for this look. I thinks it's one of the « most expensive faces » I ever wear, but still, I recognize this is exessive.
I would love to hear your opinion on this makeup look. If you also did a « how much's my face worth ? », feel free to link it down below and you can be sure that I'll check it out.
Have a lovely day,

10 Beauty things I suck at

I've been interested in everything fashion-beauty related for the past few years, and with that came the desire to avoid looking like a hot mess. Even though on a daily basis I'm doing my best to not scare people away as soon as they see my face, there still are many beauty (and lifestyle, but lets stick to beauty for today shall we?) related things I am absolute crap at ! But you know what ? It's ok to suck ! Oh, you suck too ? Let's all suck together then !

Beauty things I just... can't/don't do :

1-My hair : Pinterest tutorials ? Tried. Failed. Youtube ? Same. I can't even dry my mane properly !

2- My nails : For some reason, my left hands feels handicaped as soon as it touches a nail polish. Plus who manages to wait patiently for their nails to dry ? I mean...no peeing, no face scratching, no eating, no moving (?) for at least five whole minutes !

3- Moisturizing my body : Can't be arsed. I rarely feel like waiting fifteen minutes naked in my bathroom for my body to dry.

4-Contouring : The only thing I'll ever give Kim K credit for. I just can't do contouring whithout looking like a muddy mess. My skin is so pale I need to be very light handed with bronzer, and I'm not that kind of delicate, careful girl.

5-Throwing out expired products : I'm willing to admit that this one is a little dodgy, but to me if a products still smells/looks good even after its expiring date, that means it's still usable.

6-Lining my lips : I have to invest in a few lip liners, I still don't own any. It's a struggle to pull of a good looking red lip when your lipstick desperatly tries to escape your mouth's edges, believe me.

7-Khôl eyeliner : I just don't do khôl (exept in my waterline). It either thugs onto my eyelids, lumps up, looks inequal, smudges, doesn't smuge as I want it... Liquid liner ! Liquid liner is good.

8-Keeping my jewellery : The reason I don't buy expensive jewellery (other than the fact that I don't have the money for it, obviously) is that I know I'll loose it. Whether it's at a friend's, in the changing rooms while trying clothes on, in my bedroom (in my vacuum cleaner)... You can be sure these beautiful earring will end up disappearing !

9-Haircair: I currently have dry ass straw hair, with extremely split ends. Why ? Because I don't take care of it properly. I just shampoo every two days, slap on some 1min conditionner before blowdrying it fully (ain't anybody got time for cold blowdrying!) whithout using any heat protecter. I do realise how stupid it is, I just prefer spending money on makeup than on haircair...thanks fucked up priorities !

10- Buying what I need : this point has a link whith the precedent one. If I need a white blouse, I'll go shopping for it and come back with a blue bag. If I'm on the look out for a new foundation/lip liner/eyelash curler, you'll see me come back from my shopping trip with an eyeshadow palette. I'm too much of an impuls buyer, who has to think more about what she needs and will use rather than what she wants on a given moment.

So there you go, that was a tiny sample of the numerous things I'm awful at ! In which domain do you suck ?

See you next time,

Maddy

Chopping it off

I made my decision. I'm going to chop them off. Chop of the locks I've been groing for a year and a half now. Nothing too extreme though, as I'm planning to hop on the « lob » (long-bob) bandwagon. So many celebrities have made « the cut » last year, and it tends to look amazing on every single one of them, independently of their hair color and texture. I have a fair amout of hair, that easily get frizzy/wavy, depending on its mood, so I gathered up a few of my favorite « celebrity lobs », keeping myself away from the straight ones I know I'll never achieve. Hopefully a pre-summer makeover will rejuvanate my dry-broken mane.
What is your opinion about the «lob »? (can't get enough of that word, sorry...)

Springy Asos picks

Seems like spring is creeping up on us frenchies again. It comes to say hi for a few days before leaving us bare-legged and freezing on a cold day of march. As everybody else, I quite want to build a new wardrobe for the upcomming season. To me, spring is all about swapping your dark, gloomy plain fabrics for lighter, cream, pastel, lacy ones (as you'll probably be able to tell, I absolutely love lace). I coudln't think of a better place than ASOS.com to drool over new spring collections. Clothing-wise, Asos strangely has every single piece you need to « springify » your wardrobe. These are a few of my favorites (bear in mind I didn't brows through the beauty section of the website, otherwise this whislist would've been another makeupy-one, because I have no willpower)

Jackets

Tops

Bottoms

Shoes

Jewellery

Accessories

Hope you've found some springspiration (too long on the computer, sorry),
Have a lovely day,

My one True match

I caved in. I bought the uber-hyped, very well loved, « True match » foundation by l'Oréal. I'm the last person to belive in astrolgy/signs/god/fate and all the rest, but I'm going to defend myself by telling you it was meant to be. I saw my shade (the lightest, obviously) available in store for the first time, the same day I started to realise I was running out of my beloved « match perfection » foundation by rimmel. This used to be my staple « Not risky, not dewy, not matt, medium coverage, last a good amount of time foundation . Let me tell you it has been dethroned.

First of all, l'Oréal true match's packaging is flawless. Not beautiful, not luxurious, but practical (thanks to the pump) and sturdy . The foudation has a medium but buildable coverage, and one pump tends to be enough for me to cover my entire face, hiding everything that needs hiding, whithout giving a cakey finish at all. The product is quite liquidy, which makes it very light-weight and comfortable on the skin. But what surprised me the most was the drugstore gem's lasting power : I wore it for over fifteen hours the other day (yeah, I know, not good) , and at the end of that, it still looked pretty damn decent ; not fresh (come on, which foundation would look fresh after all that sweaty time?), but not all over the place either. Bear in mind that I have normal skin though, I don't know what it would look like on an oilier skin-type.

Now I believe this foundation comes in 13 shades in France, R1-C1  « rose Ivory » being the lightest and my perfect color match (pink toned, super fair) and retails for 15,50€ here (but I actually found it a lot cheaper in store). It's worth every single penny, as I think the quality of this product lives up to many high end foundations.

I'm still open for any good foundation subjection though, feel free to leave some in the comments.

See you soon,

Maddy

To do...

To the big procrastinator that I am here are a few thing you are now going to have to do, because you've just commited to them in front of the entire internet.

Find yourself a spanish teacher : Being homeschooled (post about all that right here if you're interested) means I have no other teacher than myself. Which, when you're supposed to learn a language is a bit of a bummer. I'm currently looking for a spanish boy/girl who would teach me his language against babysitting or english/french/violin lessons. Finding one isn't an easy task.

Go snoop around for job experiences : There are a few places in my countryside in which I would love to do some work experience, but either there is an insurance problem, transport problem or I'm just too shy/scared to ask. I decided I would stop being a woos (oh, there's a post on that to, just here) and ask the buisness owners if I can come and bother them for a week or so.

Get back into your school work : Not gonna lie. I've been slacking a bit on my school work lately. It's now time to pick myself up, sit at my desk and again realise how much I like working.

Go and ask about the short story contest : I've heard about a short-story competition in Angoulême, which has for theme « public transport ». Since I love writing, I think I'm going to participate (got' nothing to loose have I?) but beforehand, I need to ask a few questions about the rules. In town. 45 mins away from my home. Happy there's public transport huh ?

Cook something new : I always cook the same things, stick to meals I know I love and never get out of my comfort zone. My « recipe I want to try » list is suuuper long but I never seem to actually try new dishes. Time for a change!

Read a « proper » book : I'm not in a « reading mood » at the moment, all I seem to be able to ingurgitate are mangas and light hearted short story books. But I have to remember that reading the classics is a huuge part of my course for the Bac. Careful, Zola, I'm coming...

Here you go, these are the things you have to do, you egocentric, third-person speaker.

See you next time,
Maddy

Weirdest quotes from my school teachers

I think all kids tend to idolise adults, submit to their authority and  consider everything they say as the truth. But here I am to break the myth whith a few (real) funny/stupid quotes from different ex-teachers of mine, enjoy :

-« There are no hôtels in England, only bed and breakfasts »

-« There are very few varieties of cheese in England »

-« Birds don't get shocked on eletric wires because they have a special thing on their feets » (100% real, I promise)

-« Every North African has fuzzy hair »

I one day corrected my teacher for using « can » instead of « may » she responded :
-« Yes, you're right, but that's not on this year's curriculum »

- « Most of you aren't going to finish the year, but that's a good thing because the classes are overcrowded anyways »

-« It's normal you failed the test about last year's program, science has shown that you only remember ?% of the information you intake in class »

- « No, she can't be cheating, she's a good student » (she was very, very cheating indeed)

A teacher had a tantrum and just screamed :
- « I want a copybook, buy a copybook » (humm, would work better if you stamped your feet ?)

- « Why do you only have a mobile phone number, your family can't afford to buy a home phone ? »

- « Raise your hand to ask if you may go to the toilet » (guess who peed her pants?)

- « Don 't fart in the classroom, ask if you might (cross the entire playground ) go to the toilet »

- « If you don 't have a mobile, it means your parents don't think you're responsible »

-  « If you're bored in class, try homeschooling »

Here we go, these are a few phrases that lulled my child (and teenage)hood.
Hope this post's made you laugh,
I would love to hear stupid phrases you've grown up hearing, please leave a comment down below,

Current book envies

Hardbacks/coffee table books

Love Tanya by Tanya Burr : Being a huge fan of the vlogger herself, it's surprinsing I still haven't bought a copy of her book. From what I saw, it seems like a very entertaing coffee table book, featuring beautiful pictures, great recipes, fashion/beauty tips... On top of that, I would love to know a bit more about the beauty guru's life (creepy ? Sorry...).

Glam Guide by Fleur de force : Another beauty guru-y book, Fleur owns one of my favourites youtube channel of all times (FleurdeForce) and buying her work feels evident.

Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes : The « beauty bible » everyone is talking about at the moment (well...a few weeks ago). As usual, I'm late to the party but I did download an extract from this book on my kindle, and absolutely loved it! One day I swear I'll get my hands on the (entire) hardback version of this beauty tips goldmine.

Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown : Even though I have never tried Bobbi Brown Cosmetics before (can't find them in France), I've heard so many mouth watering (or eye-watering, really, since I can't get my hands on them) things about the line. The book seems pretty good as well, in the same lines as « pretty honest » but with many more illustrations.

How to be a parisian, wherever you are by Caroline de Maigret, Anne Berest, Sophie Mas and Audrey Diwan : Yes I'm french. No I'm not from Paris, No I don't have class in my genes and Yes I could use some help in the fashion department, that's when this book would come in handy. Plus, isn't the cover illustration gorgeous ?

Novels

Yes please by Amy Poelher : Button bookshelf. Sold me. Neeeeeed this book !

Wild by Cheryl Strayed : OK. Button bookshelf again, but don't blame me, Essie is amazing (if you don't know who I'm talking about, click right here and get stuck in front of her videos for a few hours, you're welcome)! The theme of this book seems quite unique and reflexion-worthy. I promised myself I'd read it before watching the film.

Gone girl  by  Gillian Flynn: I've seen mixed reviews on this novel. But again, I refuse to watch the film before giving this thriller a read.

Et Voilà ! These are a few of my current book-envies (I have sooo many others but I don't want to bore you with them).
Hopefully this list will have given you some reading ideas and tell me, what's on your reading list?

See you soon,

Maddy
